HANUKKAH AND THE
MENORAH
This week’s “News, Nuggets, and Insights” changes pace a bit and focuses on the upcoming Jewish holiday, Hanukkah. Find out how this holiday, rich in tradition, has become a time-honored celebration known as “The Feast of Lights.” Tom Kerry explains through history and ancient writings, the fascinating meaning of Hanukkah.
One cannot highlight Hanukkah without mentioning the Menorah. The Menorah is a very special candelabrum commissioned to be made for the tabernacle as cited in Exodus 25. This week’s episode puts together an intriguing history of the Menorah. The Menorah is the oldest symbol known to exist, associated with the Jewish religion. The original Menorah remains missing, but the history surrounding it, is a testimony of God’s supremacy over Satan.
Along with these rich and fascinating subjects, “News, Nuggets, and Insights” shares some uplifting videos to inspire you as we approach the end of the year. It is wonderful to know that although we must endure the “holiday season,” God always reveals and sheds light that His people need to face the darkness that Satan promotes in the pagan holidays.
FROM THE VAULT
This week we have online for you to download a special sermon delivered in 2006,
“This Generation Shall Not Pass.” The generation that made it possible to “destroy all flesh,” is growing older. Time is indeed coming to a close and many prophecies are being fulfilled. God’s people must continue to watch and warn this world. This sermon lays out hard-hitting information and brings events into the light of God’s Word.
IN THE MAIL
We are very excited to inform you that The Quarterly magazine is in the mail this week. It is full of information about this year’s Feast sites and has many inspiring articles, including a sobering look at the “Doomsday Clock.” We are offering the DVD “1776, The Rebirth of Israel” for you to request with the enclosed card inside each magazine. Be sure and be on the lookout for The Quarterly.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we strive to reach this world that is in dire need of God. People need to begin to “seek the Lord while He may be found.” We are ever so grateful to be part of this ongoing work until Christ returns.
