The Memorial Day weekend is upon us and this week “News, Nuggets, and
Insights” pays tribute to those who gave all to preserve freedom in
America. Did you know that God also has a memorial for His fallen soldiers?
It is fitting that as we honor our fallen heroes, America celebrates its
250th Anniversary with a very special proclamation by President Trump
encouraging all Americans to keep the Sabbath. This past weekend, the White
House celebrated Shabbat 250 as well as America’s rededication to God as it
approaches its 250th Anniversary. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, reminded
us of our Judeo-Christian roots and how our forefathers declared a day of
prayer and fasting. He focused on humility and how the nation’s soul has
always been its faith in God. Justice Thomas gave a powerful speech on how
our rights are given to us by God Himself and not government. President
Trump read the entire prayer of Solomon’s dedication of the first temple to
God. In this inspired prayer, we are warned what would happen if we turn
away from God. This week, NNI reveals why this event is so important and
what it means for the future of the United States.
While the U.S. celebrates its 250th anniversary, it is facing economic
stress. Affordability still dominates the public interest. Because of the
Strait of Hormuz closure, prices will rise even higher. Where will it all
end?
After counting down to the days of Pentecost, the Feast of Weeks
is finally here. This week we conclude our series from 2018 that was full of
important information about this meaningful and uplifting Holy Day.
